Bimbadeen Phillip Island
This research proposal consists of three different designs located in three different locations for Bimbadeen Phillip Island (a sustainable farm). Including the original location of the farm, the restaurant located in Coburg as well as the pop-up kiosk which shows up in Melbourne Food & Wine Festival during 19 to 29 March 2021.
That relates to food sources, environmental issues, and sustainable food.
The purpose of these three contexts is to inform people how to make a positive impact on society by eating ethically.
- a sustainable farm
The 340 acre family run farming property, ‘Bimbadeen’, is located close to both the world famous Penguin Parade and Grand Prix Circuit. Bimbadeen has become renowned for its award winning premium quality beef and innovative environmental practices winning awards at both State and National levels.
Today over 200 Angus cattle graze the paddocks with other forms of wildlife including ducks and cape barren geese. New to our farm are 2000 Isa Brown hens, 2 Alpacas, 500000 bees and two very friendly sheep . As part of the new direction for Bimbadeen free-range eggs and honey are now being produced – Bimbadeen being the first and only commercial free range egg producer on the Island.
